Golden Tiger Poker

Golden Tiger Poker was launched in October of 2002 and is still one of the smaller, but more active poker rooms on the 'net.

Since launch, Golden Tiger Poker has delivered over 500,000 hands to their customers, primarily for Texas Hold'em, but also 5 and 7 Card Stud Poker. The advantages and disadvantages of a “smaller” poker room are just two sides of the same coin: Fewer people make it a more friendly atmosphere, since you keep seeing the same folks whenever you play, but fewer people usually means it's harder to find a game other than Texas Hold'em during non-peak hours.

Graphics / Software

The interface and the “play” of Golden Tiger is consistent, the number of seats at a table varies from 2 for 1 on 1 Hold'em, to 8 seats for 5 and 7 card stud and 10 players to each Texas/Omaha Hold'em, tables. The lobby allows you to view open tables, by the type of game. Each game list allows you to view the stakes for the game, the number of people playing and when relevant and the number of people waiting to play. You'll be able to choose the betting limits you're comfortable with. Texas Hold'em stakes range from $.50/$1 to as much as a $50/$100 table. Once you’re in there, you'll see a table and chairs - but only names for players, not Avatars (people) like at most poker rooms. Right click a player’s name for more info on them and the ability to keep notes.

Games

All the games are great if you like that particular version of poker. Texas Hold'em is typically the most popular variation, with 7 Card Stud following closely behind.

Special with Goden Tiger Poker

Golden Tiger also has a $250 prize for highest Texas Hold'em hand every day!

SNG Calling Requirements and Opponents Calling

In my typical pathetic show-me-some-love fashion.....any replys would be
appreciated.

This has to be one of the most frustrating and confusing parts of an SNG. You
work to get to the bubble, and then you are faced with a decision that could end
your run and give you nothing in return, sending you to the rail crying in
shame......or propel you to the greater ranks, giving you satisfaction that
makes you feel like you are an SNG expert. OK, maybe not that dramatic, but you
get the idea.

I've played approximately 1200 SNGS this year so far. And let me tell you
folks.......I still don't get it.

In the early stages of an SNG, things are pretty straightforward......avoid
conflicts without the nuts or close to and don't get too tricky. Steal at a
minimum until the the blinds start becoming a factor. Yadda Yadda Yadda.

Here's where it gets tricky......bubble time and large blinds. I want to post
some scenarios from last night, and I would love to hear any responses from
people who play a lot of SNG's.

As a sidenote, the basic strategy people are using is the push-fold when it
gets late. I am an advocate to a point. Sometimes, it's just nice to see a f
with KJs or ATo....so making min-raises (baby cries) is something I will do on
occasion.

Let's consider that your opponents are average/above-average
players....nothing tricky, just basic players who have common knowledge of
and such.

Scenarios where you would have to call.

1. Blinds at 200/400. You are BB with 3500 chips and in 2nd place out of 4.
Folded to the SB who to 1200. You have him outchipped by about 1200
chips. You have AJo. Short stack has 1000 and folded. What do you do?

2. Blinds at 300/600. You are the chip leader with 5000 chips and 4 people
left. You are in the SB. Its folded to the button (who has 2800 chips and is in
2nd place) who pushes and you have 88. BB is shortstacked with about 500 chips
after paying his BB. What do you do?

3. Blinds at 200/400. You are a short stack with about 1800 chips and 4
people left. You are on the button and the UTG chip leader pushes. You have AT
sooooted. What do you do?

Now how about some scenarios where it's folded to
you.

1. Blinds at 100/200/25. 5 people remaining. You are one off the button, are
barely in 2nd place with 3000 chips and you have JJ. The button is the chip
leader with 4000 chips, and the BB is the short stack with 1200. What do you do?

2. Blinds at 200/400. 4 people remaining. You and another player are
shortstacks with about 1600 chips apiece. You have QJs on the button and it's
folded to you. SB is chip leader by far(7000 chips) and the BB is in 2nd with
about 3000 chips. What do you do?

3. Blinds at 300/600 with 4 people remaining. You are the chip leader with
5500 chips. The SB and BB both have about 3000 chips. It's folded to you on the
button and you have K9 soooooted. What do you do?

4. Blinds at 200/400 with 4 people remaining. You are 2nd in chips with 3000
chips and it's folded to you in the SB. You have AA. The BB is a shortstack with
1400 chips after paying the blinds. What do you do? (This is probably the most
confusing for me)

Trusted Customer Support

I thought I would relate an experience I had with customer at Intercasino.
I was having a problem making a deposit through Firepay into the banking and I thought I had tried everything I could to no avail. My wife was sitting with me during this when we noticed a little button on the homepage that said "Call Me". I clicked the button and said to my wife, "We'll see if they call".
SidebarWhen you click on the call me button you can enter a number that is different from the one you signed up with, in case you are at another location .End Sidebar
So we begin to wait and I swear to God the phone rang in 2.5 min. I timed them. It was a direct call from London and after verification I got the problem corrected.

This is just one small aspect of Trusted Customer Support in Intercasino, and I have some more examples for other sites as well.

So what about you. Got any comments?

Do you trust online gambling sites?

Just thought I would throw that out there. I have always wondered if people out surfin around see the ads for online gambling sites and say "yeah right, you'll sell my email, spam me, and the games are rigged any way" or something like that.

Or maybe a lot of people are experienced at online gambling and love to look for the bonus ads, and match deals that the sites offer.

Why I started this blog is to throw out to you the subject of online gambling. Can the sites be tusted? Are the games fair? Have you been ripped off? Do you have a good experience to share, or a bad experience to share? What about Customer Service. What about Banking, depositing and withdrawing. Did you get paid that big jackpot you won?

Here is my site.
Have a look and you can use it to base your comments if you would like or of course the rest of the worlds sites.

I'll be back and tell you some of my experiences, and to comment on yours.
